Understanding the 0.065% holding fee

Physical metal doesn't store itself. Vaulting, insuring, and administering allocated gold and silver costs money, and Miligram is upfront about that cost rather than folding it into a spread you'd never see.

What it covers

The 0.065% monthly holding fee is charged on the USD value of your $MILG and $MILS balance. It covers the cost of vaulting, insurance, and administration of the allocated metal behind your tokens — the same kind of cost any holder of physical bullion pays, whether they realize it or not.

A cost, never a yield

It's worth stating plainly: this fee only ever reduces your balance, it never adds to it. Miligram does not pay interest or yield on holdings. If a milligram of gold or silver changes in dollar value, that's the metal price moving — not a return generated by Miligram.

The rest of the fee schedule

Beyond the holding fee, buys and sells carry a transparent spread, and physical redemption carries a premium over spot for minting and shipping. Both are shown before you confirm. See the full pricing page for every line item.
