Redemption

Redemption, explained: whole-coin Eagles

Miligram tokens are priced down to the milligram, but physical redemption happens in whole coins. That's not a limitation of the system — it's simply how minted coins work, and it's worth understanding the mechanics before you plan around it.

The conversion

One troy ounce equals 31,103.4768 milligrams, so that's how many $MILG tokens redeem for one 1 oz Gold Eagle, and how many $MILS tokens redeem for one 1 oz Silver Eagle. Because coins are minted in fixed sizes, redemption is only available once you hold enough tokens for a whole coin.

What redemption is (and isn't)

Redemption converts tokens into physical metal you can hold — a Gold Eagle or a Silver Eagle shipped to you. It carries a premium over spot to cover minting, fabrication, and shipping/handling, shown before you confirm. Redemption is not a cash withdrawal; it is specifically an exchange of tokens for the physical coin they represent.

If you don't want to redeem

Most holders never need to. You can hold $MILG and $MILS in-app indefinitely, or withdraw them to your own Hedera wallet and trade on-chain — see self-custody vs. holding in-app. Physical redemption is one option among several, not a requirement.
